Also on the main mountain again, you can see on the top one a line running down the mountai where the angle must change quickly due to the low poly count.. this is not in the high poly one and it is much smoother. There is also difference on the other mountains but it isnt so obvious because of the clouds..

And Mike, you can get rid of the rock texturing problem with AF by setting AF to app preference in the CP and enabling it via the advanced Far cry graphic options under texture filter quality, or set the AF you want with:

~ (console)
\r_Texture_Anisotropic_Level #

# = AF level, ie 8

\e_deformable_terrain 1

Going to try this one now.. i remember seeing deformable terrain in two far cry videos.. it will apparently only work with the rocket launcher, and only in open spaces away from trees etc.

The log file reports that PS1.1 was being used.

On the GeForce FX, I had to set AA in the control panel. Using application mode in the control panel and setting the AA in-game had no effect (even when I restarted the game).

Yes, disable it in the control panel. If you wanna use AF you'll have to enable it by using this concole command:
\r_Texture_Anisotropic_Level 8 (An example for 8xAF)

I get a ~10 FPS hit when using 8xAF and it's not worth it IMO. Can't really see any difference in quality either.

Interesting huh? That probably also kinda explains why FX cards tend to get higher performance in Far Cry.
lol right! i just noticed that !
so is there anyway to force PS_2.0 for NV3x hardware ??

you could use 3d analyze to trick the game into thinking you have a r300
there's also a command d3d9_NV30_PS20 = #
i'm not sure what it does
