Peace,

I'd like to see 45 fps with a 5200 U.

"but this games seems to be a real memory hog."

agreed.... I used CachemanXP to see the amount of memory it uses, and wowzers. Definate leakagey going on bigtime. But if they get it fixed, I may buy it. The jungle is the most convincing I have ever played in. Can you imagine a Vietnam mil combat game, or just a mil combat game done with this engine? wOOOt

my specs:

2300 mhz AMD
5950 Ultra 256 @ 500 core, 1000 mem.
1 gig of DDR400 Kingston ram

The issue I ran into is this.... No matter if I chose all low settings, or all highest detail settings, Performance was the same. No changes. Well, it actually runs a tad better at all highest settings. But here is the rub, in the menus looking at the charcter model of Jack, every 2 seconds its jerks to a fast stop, split second, but annoying as hell. This is without moving the mouse, then if you move the mouse, the mouse as well jerks, then is smooth again... every 2 seconds.

Go ingame, and the same thing, the whole screen just jerks like it is loading something at 2 second intervals. My average fps at all highest detail settings is 50. The lowest it dips at anytime is 39. But the jerky thing going on even in the menus shows me a leak is happening bigtime.

But when I am inbetween the damn load jerk, freakme out is this game fast smooth and beauty on the eyes. Others at the FC forums have run into this same issue. I hope they nip this one for sure. It might be an awesome game.

I don't think this game is using PS 2.0 at all in it's current state. I'm in the MP Beta I'm trying to get more info that I can share. I do know FC is forcing PS 1.1 on r300 however.

Yo malfunction,

Honestly, i don't care what others have to say abt ati or nvidia. Facts are facts. Ati is the king of the hill for PS2.0 (DX9) right now. Many review sites have done testing and proven it time and again. However, a difference of a few fps doesn't really matter to me. I'm using nvidia mainly because of the driver stability. I'm sure nvidia is hard at work on their nv40 right now to take back the performance crown. But that's beside the point.

Why make a game look so great but yet so slow? I'm not expecting a 120fps with everything max on. But at least a 60 to 80fps. We all spend lots of $$$ on hardware to get the best out of our gaming experience.

Btw guys, I'm using forceware v53.06. Didn't notice any difference from v53.03.

Still get that stupid error, im guessing it wants to install stuff to my system32 folder and the developers specified the C drive instead of something like %sysroot%

I completed the game, it the best demo I ever seen.

I will play it again this time with Hard skill.

I have little trouble to deal with the helicopter, I tried shot it down with 2 to 3 rockets from rocket launcher, it wont come down. Is here any way I can shoot it down?

I didn't have time to play for more than 5 minutes, but the game looks great so far . I didn't check the exact FPS, but the game ran fine and smooth on my system at 1024x768 4xAF 0xAA and all ingame settings maxed. I didn't notice any glitch or 'swap-slowdown' yet, just had some slowdowns here and there, but nothing really annoying. I think I'm gonna buy this game .

maybe that's how they are meant to be

shouldn't ATI have some division to test out new games with their hardware - perhaps this is a good idea... just one or two people would be enough - with one day of testing.
