OMG malf, your screenies look like Quake II or something!!! Can you tolerate playing with your mipmaps etc. set that low??

I didn't screw with it too much last nite... heh I don't even know yet if I set things up right...

My nv control panel settings I set to highest quality, no aa, 4xaf... In game I set all detail to high (not very high), and I got decent (25-50) fps @ 1280x960x32... same playability after I kicked down to 1152x 864x32, and turned in-game AA on to "low"...

... I really like blowin up that gas can on them poor blokes...

Well, it's difficult but I can and that is what makes it tolerable. Next Gen Vidcards being right around the corner does as well... hehe. Hell, I've had this card since August now I think, been waiting for dramatic stretches in quality, fps and features. Haven't really seen it so tis why I held out for so long. CoD doesn't look like this though, so when you only play BF and CoD.. oh yah, and Cashflow: The E-Game (that cost $100 ); It becomes a little more tolerable.

To be honest, I really don't know how much longer I can hold out.

Peace,

When using console commands use the \ instead. (Same key as +/question mark )

Like this:
\r_DisplayInfo 1
\r_DisplayInfo 0 for disabling it of course

Without a "=" as well.

Then you'll get some info in the right corner, like polygon count, view distance and of course the good old FPS.

I'd believe that if my "hearing" came back after a few seconds, but I have to quit and restart the game when that happens.

Here is why I think they did a great job on this game.

I am running a 9700pro and "older" card with a 2800+ and 512mb of 3200 RAM on a nForce 2 board. I am getting 55-65 FPS in the jungle with all very high setting except for shadows, they are set at normal. For as much "stuff" that is in the world, to me this is a job well done by the guys at UBI.

It is a demo so I can over look the bugs in the audio and other small problems but man the game play is really fun and the environment is rich and interactive. This is what I have been looking for in a game for a long time. I am simply blow away by this demo, then again I am easier to please than most here but I had a w00t! of a time.

I am comparing the game between directx and opengl.
The water. shadows and lighting looks way better in directx but the ground trees guns and rocks look better in open gl.

I but the opengl command in the console. Is there a directx command i can use to switch back to it?

I wouldn't use OpenGL if I were you. CryTek stopped developing for OpenGL a while ago.

Anyway, before I try another set of drivers on the ATI side just wanted to know if there was anything special I needed to do.

I finally got it downloaded without being corrupt just a little while ago so I haven't had a chance to play with it for very long.
I put the 3.8 cats on and got AA now, but I'm not sure if the AF is still screwy or not. (Sorry, I just turned it off after the texture weirdness...I'll check it later.)

Seemed to chug at times with a 5950U running at 1280x1024 and very high details, regardless of AA setting (just as much chugging with medium as low). Odd. Need to fire up FRAPS, see what the deal is.

Savage, on the other hand... boy oh boy, that thing runs FANTASTICALLY with 4x/8x at 1280x960.
