I would look for an sbios update from Soltek. I don't know if it will solve your problem, but I imagine it will help. I'm really at a loss as to why all of your apps are segfaulting, unless you have some sort of glibc problem.

Well I've updated the BIOS, I the "Engineering Release" message is gone, but the computer behaves exactly the same. I guess I'll compile my own kernel, play around with glibc and see what happens. Thanks for your help.
