Thats good comparision SH64.
That's not a rust texture. It's a very šhitty rust texture if it is.

Edit - Oh wait, you mean the first images.

Thanks for the input guys .... i hope that comaprsion has shed some light on the shaders IQ/performance of Nvidia & ATi cards
also i wish if some of Nvidia staff is looking at these screens & took that into thier plans for the next Forceware release or until the finall game comes out.

i thought about that , but i think i dont have enough bandwidth into my account to upload more pics or they'll kill me , also at first test i can tell that the diffrenece between ATI PS_2.0 vs Nvidia's PS_2.0 on the last 3 pics is less than the one on the "rusty" pipes .
i guess i need to put them next to each other to check that.

[try not to look at which screenshot represent which card to see if you can find a differenece or not]
NV

hmmm from these screenshots i cant see a noticable difference between ATi & Nvidia's PS2.0 ... or do you?

am i just getting dizzy or the next shots have Pixel shaders on the soliders pants & thier armors ??

nvPS2.0

nvPS1.1

last 2 shots are with lower res due to screen size upload limit.

Shiny pants? Wow, anyone else think they're over-using some of these effects? Oh, and I think it's important to remember that this is using a 3rd party program to trick the FX cards into enabling PS2.0. By the time the game is released, they may release a driver set that renders all these effects better, and the full version of the game will probably allow PS2.0 with FX cards by default. Has the developer said anything official about why the PS2.0 is disabled for FX cards in the demo?

Both cards running in PS 2.0 quality difference is hard to spot , and screenshots aren't in same spot , noticable thing is some 10+ more FPS for ATI cards And yes FarCry devs need some work on game effects they overdid in many places lazy lazy.

Anyways all this is irelevant by the time the game is released moust of us will have next gen cards

That only happens when you use the flashlight one them.. but yeah, not all that realistic, we still have a long was to go before these things start looking fairly close to realism. Most effects still look plastic though.. maybe making a game where everything is plastic would be a good idea for current hardware?

But we all know that with out PP or lower IQ shaders the FX line is just plan slower than the ATI cards at PS2.0. JC said that this is more or less gonna to be the normal for DX9 games on FX cards. Yes I think NV will do some driver tweaks to get the PS2.0 perfromance up a bit. But this is yet another game that shows us the same thing that Halo, TR and Synthetics have shown us before.....

Now the better question is--who's forcing PS1.1? The developers or the driver?

Someone likes deleting my post.

So your saying PS 1.1 is being forced on FX cards because they are alot slower at PS 2.0?

Welcome to the plastic age

i agree with what Edge said : we cant take it seriously until the final game comes out & see the NV cards runs thier PS2.0 w/o tricks .

lets hope that gives some time to Nvidia to "tweak" the next Forceware for FC or "optimize" the game with thier own PS2.0 code .
& yeah i'm interested to hear what the developer have to say about the FX cards forcing PS1.1 .
