can you set the gamma?
After stugling on Debian I switched to Feedora and got the drivers working first time wihtout any special hacking (for the record 2.4.22-1.2149.nptl kernel seems to play nice with the drivers, at least on my GF4ti4200/128Meg)
So now everything is working very nice and fast, even my tv card and games like q3a. The only thing I need to do now is adjust the brightness/gamma because my monitor doesn't display darker details well without a gamma ramp. I've seen a setup utility that does these kind of things, but it's been taken out of the drivers (anyone know why?!) - can I change these settings manually in X or somthing? One other point - why doesn't the installer edit the X config for you? Compatibility issues between distros?

You can use xgamma to adjust brightness -- xgamma -gamma 1.5
|
