Mandrake 9.2 + 2.4.22 enterprise kernel

Ladies and Gents, Has anyone compiled an Nvidia kernel under the above system? The installer quits on me saying that it cant find the kernel version.

Sounds like you don't have the correct kernel source installed.

type this in the konsole or other terminal app of choice

uname -r
ls -l /usr/src/linux

Do they match?

if you get an error from /usr/src/linux that means you don't have the kernel source installed.

make sure you have installed the kernel-source rpm that matches your kernel.

Great thanks to everyone that posted on my noob msg. Quite frankly I still wonder why the hell did I not check what kernel I was booting into, and what source I had installed
