Think i'll buy UT2004 64-bits Edition after all.

afaik ati has stated their drivers should work fine under 64bit environement.s..

/me might sign up for this in a while..

Free for 360 days at least. I'd be surprised if MS gave away the final version.

ATI's 64bit drivers don't work in OGL, right?

am dling the patch but am unlikely to use it till I find out more about ati's drivers...

there is a thread on r3d about this and looks a little iffy... the only 64 bit support is for itanium extensions...

ATI has itanium support??? since when?

Just finnished the download after a very long wait. Im on 56k as i live in a rural area and dont have a BB enabled exchange

but still.... a little patience and i finally have it.

It's quite nippy, most apps seem to run fine.... work just as normal. Id actually be willing to use it as my main OS if i could find working SATA drivers (cant see my C: drive etc) and if Creative had some SoundDrivers out... guess ill just have to hang on to it and wait a bit longer.

It installs with the default 'Windows Classic' theme which is fine by me. At last a new Windows release that does not look like a toy on first boot.

Run some sandra tests, mainly on memory. This is a 32bit version of Sandra, you have to pay for the 64bit version

Memory bandwidth is definatley up, if only slightley. Im not sure how a 64bit version of Sandra would bench - but id certainly be interested to see it.
