Strange problem and I'm not sure if its related to the Nvidia driver: When I reboot; shutdow; or logout from KDE, the screen will sometimes go blank. When the screen goes blank, the system appears to hang. Maybe this is a PAM issue? Any ideas for a solution?
I am using the latest Nvidia driver. |

I sometimes had freezes on closing X (Debian.) This hasn't happened at all since I upgraded to kernel 2.4.23+

Really? I currently have 2.4.21-166-smp4G.
I may give that a try...maybe a good reason to switch to 2.6.x
