Talking Commador 64: Anyone remember this game?

http://www.lemon64.com/?mainurl=http...hp%3FID%3D2064

Racing Destruction Set

I use to love this game as a kid and was wondering if anyone else remembered it as well. This is probly the greatest racing game I had ever played... at the time, lmao. At least that's what I use to think.

Check out these crazy cool graphics!

This guy was recreating the game but has since stopped efforts, such a shame. http://www.planetflibble.com/rds/ It was looking real good too!

Just amazes me sometimes how far tech has come in such a short amount of time really.

Peace,

I never played this game, I never had a C64 actually. But this makes me think of 'Stunts', another game with cars and ramps which I had back in the 90's, can't remember exactly when... Well, this game was fun too, it was in 3D (read 320x200 16colors with no texture or shading or whatnot) and you could build your own tracks... Some guys recently 'remade' it and it looks pretty cool. It's called Crashday and should be released this year.

I had a buttload of games for my C64, but unfortunately this wasn't one of them. Looks like it would have been a lot of fun, though.

I used to have that game for my Atari. EA published a bunch of cool games back then that I had like Archon, Seven Cities of Gold, Pinball Construction Set, that Larry Bird basketball game, and Murder on the Zinderneuf.

Hahaha, I love hearing people talk about Crashday because I actually helped with it

I made a bunch of sound effects that will be used in the game

Yeah, this is probably gonna be a great game... I'm gonna buy it. I got bored of NFS:U, I need an arcade/racing game with more freedom and cars you can actually crash. Plus Crashday will feature a multiplayer mode, with weapons on the cars and stuff...

Sounds great! I'm gonna check it out for sure. Funny how as a kid I loved playing RDS on my C64, then Nintendo came and conquered... lol. It was just a fluke that I actually found out what the game was called again. It had been so long that I actually forgot the name of the game that really got me involved in pc gaming.

Just a great flash back for me and had to share. Thanks for the trip all...

Peace,
