Can FX 5600 do dual VGA output??
Using a GeForce FX 5600 (PCI id 10de:0312), which has three
outputs: one DVI-I, one VGA, and a TV-OUT,
with the 4496 and 5328 drivers under Linux (Red Hat 9, x86).
I'd like to use the card in 1024x768@60Hz clone mode, as with
Option "TwinView" "True"
Option "TwinViewOrientation" "Clone"
Option "ConnectedMonitors" "CRT, CRT"
and suitable settings for SecondMonitorHorizSync etc.
Result: I can use *either* output but not both at once.
If both outputs are connected at boot time, the text console
appears on both (good), but when I start X, the DVI-I-as-VGA
output goes blank. XFree86.0.log includes the interesting message:
(WW) NVIDIA(0): Multiple displays connected, but only one display allowed;
(WW) NVIDIA(0): using first display
So, is this really a single-output card, just offering dual connectors for
I don't know more about the card than that the nvidia driver calls it
"GeForce FX 5600" -- I didn't purchase it.

You have a software config problem.
All GeForce GPU hardware after NV20 (GeForce 3) have dual-DACs capable of nView. You have a software config problem.
I used to drive a Heisenberg, but whenever I'd glance at the speedometer, I'd get lost.
