Partial success creating VPN under WinXP

Hello, everyone.

Me and two of my friends want to setup some sort of virtual LAN using our DSLs for playing games using LAN, not connecting to any external server. We have tried creating a VPN (Virtual Private Network) and then installing IPX/Netware protocol/client. So far, so good. I launc a game and one of the clients connects without problems, but the problems arise as soon as the other client tries to connect too. He gets an error message stating that those connection is already in use or something like that. We have tried tinkering with all options available. HELP!!!!

If you want help we gotta get some details. What type of Cable/DSL Router are you using? Whats the error message? Are you able to see each others pc while browsing the network? (my network places)

Hmmm. I forgot to keep this thread updated. After thorough testing, we have learnt that WinXP's embedded support for VPN is lacking. It's limited to just three connections of the same type. We are going to look for an alternate solution.

You can purchase linksys and other routers that support vpn.

I notice you said ipx. What game are you trying to play?
