Hello,
I am running 2.6.1, with Xfree 4.2.0, Nvidia 1.0-5336. I was using an opengl app, X quit and restarted, the computer didn't lock up. X quit when I was going between fullscreen and windowed mode in the opengl app. This message was showing up a bunch in /var/log/messages 0: nvidia: trying to map 0xcfc59000 to kernel space, but we're in an interrupt or holding a spinlock |

The warning message is most likely unrelated to the X server crash you experienced.
