Default Split screen on dell-laptop when closing cover

Hi,

I have a small problem with the new driver...
When I close the cover (screen) and open it again, the screen graphic
splits in two parts horisontal. The same thing happens when the screen goes into energy-saving-mode. The pointer acting as nothing have happend and even if buttons is graphicaly placed off, I have to press where they should be.
Pretty much the same thing that could happen to an old TV ;-)
If I restart X it will go normal again.

The old driver worked fine (so whay did I upgrade then?).

Hardware:
Dell Inspiron 8100
gforce 2 Go
1400x1050 tft screen

Software:
Debian unstable
Xfree 4.2.1 - config - see below

Default I got the same problem

I hope you find a solution to this problem, I believe I have the same issue, only a slight variant. When I close the lid of my Dell Inspiron 8100, wait a few seconds, then open it, I get a black screen. When I hit the CRT/LCD hotkey, I get the video back, only as you described, the display is shifted vertically by half the screen height, but the mouse position corresponds to a normal screen so is not aligned with the components of the shifted screen. To restore, I must log out, and log back in (a bit tricky to do with the screen shifted like it is, one must guess where to place the cursor)

I am using SUSE Linux version 9.0, and will attach my X86 config file also if that will help some kind soul in figuring out what is going on and fixing this problem.

nVidia gForce 2 Go
BIOS has been upgraded to the latest version A15 from Dell.
nVidia drivers have been upgraded using NVIDIA-Linux-x86-1.0-5336-pkg1.run.

Default

I have the same issue. Quick workaround: Switch to a text console (e.g. CTRL+ALT+F1) and then go back to your XWindows console (e.g. ALT+F7).
