Default 40.72 and Freedom Force - No Go

I realize these are beta drivers, but this is the third set since the 40.* came out and there is still no fix for Freedom Force. If a fix is planned, fine, I can wait...

What's the problem you're having with Freedom Force? What OS are you using?

I've been happily blasting away with the heroes with the 40.71 drivers on Windows 2000 since they were released. I've downloaded the 40.72, but I haven't had a chance to install them yet.

Cheers,
JND

Very strange... I am running Windows 2000 also, with a ti4600 graphics card. I didn't have any problems with the game until the 40.41s came out... I have also seen other people report the problem.

When the game loads, the graphics get completely screwed up. It is very strange and hard to describe.

Hmmm. Are you running the patched version of the game? Do you have any tweak programs installed (RivaTuner, etc.)? I am using a GF2 GTS, but I wouldn't think that'd make a difference...

I've got the latest patch (1.1, I think), DX8.1, and the 40.72 drivers on Windows2000...

Cheers,
JND

Yep, version 1.1... I have not modified the drivers at all. I also uninstalled and re-installed the game - no difference. I know it is not just my machine, as other people are seeing this very same thing. It might be the GF4 + 40 det combination...

Hmm, must be the GF2/GF4 difference. I'm sure you've been frequenting all the FF forums as well. Good luck!
