When I went to get my boys MX Unleashed last week, I noticed the guy making Far Cry display boxes. I asked if they had it and he said soon. Told him I was looking foward to Doom 3 and lied about looking foward to HL2, then he told me they are really pushing for April on HL2 and Doom 3 for Sept. I think he may have been confused when he told me, though I think it is the opposite of what he said and if it turns out as so, I will just have to take whatever he says next time and think the opposite...lol.

This was last Friday when he told me... could happen after all it appears.

Peace,

exactly. We've been down this road way too many times. Normally only believe what you hear from the dev's (ID Software) or publisher. Too bad this wasn't the case w/ another company *cough* Valve *cough*

hmm. gamespot took down the page and also the link to the article from the front page. There's something fishy going on here. They said the info came directly from activision which is the publisher.

I saw that NV have added this banner on the front page, so who knows, somethings up maybe?

Since it was delayed last July, Doom 3 has not had an official release date other than "Early 2004." However, online retailers have been listing the game with speculative ship dates, usually in April.
That changed today, when GameSpot learned that Activision may be planning to ship the PC Doom 3 on April 15. While the date has not been announced yet, a source from within Activision's managerial caste told GameSpot the date was "official." The source also said the Xbox version of the game has not yet received a firm release date. GameSpot is actively seeking follow-up confirmation on the date, and will post updates on any developments.

I dont think those are good enough to compete with the game. UT2k4 will be just like ut2k3 except with vehicles. Painkiller, not too much impressed with the game except for the nice graphics.

Peace,

Why would a guy at a vide game store know more than you? With that thing called internet, news spread in minutes....what he said is hardly news at all....he probably read it off some games forum

Doom3 is not the same game as UT2004. And after playing the 2004 demo I can say it is not 2003 w/ vehicles. It is more like the original UT w/ vehicles.
But if I had to choose one game to buy right now it would be UT2004 as it will have more game play!! I could be wrong but I have yet to see a game made by ID w/ a good or even decent story line.
Here is hoping they do deliver the total package w/ Doom3!!!!

Apparently the April 15th release date was just a rumor and "far from the mark" according to "official sources"
