I've just installed the latest drivers on a fully patched Red Hat 9 installation.
Everything is working great. Except for power management (DPMS) . In Xscreensaver preferences, I have enabled Display Power Management. Standby after 30 minutes, Suspend after 60 minutes, Off after 120 minutes. But when I come back to my desk after 60 minutes but less than 120 minutes (I think) the first monitor is black and appears to be powered down, but the second monitor is RED and powered on. If I move the mouse, the second monitor immediately displays the last screen saver image, but the primary monitor takes a few seconds to come back on. Both monitors are identical ViewSonic PS790's The graphics card is a GeForce 2MX 400 with dual VGA outputs. The processor is Athlon XP 1800+ in an Asus A7V266 motherboard. /proc/...cards/0 says: Model: GeForce2 MX/MX 400 IRQ: 11 Video BIOS: 03.11.00.18.00 Card Type: AGP I haven't tried swapping monitors, cables or other components yet. |

OK. So after letting it sit overnight, both monitors powered down.
So perhaps the problem is with "suspend" on the second monitor. |
