Kernel 2.6.2 => Compilation Error

Hello,

I have successfully compiled and installed the NVIDIA driver 1.0-5336 using a 2.4.24 Kernel.
Now I'm switiching to 2.6.2 und get the following error during compilation:

LD [M] /usr/src/NVIDIA-Linux-x86-1.0-5336-pkg1/usr/src/nv/nvidia.o
Building modules, stage 2.
drivers/atm/.ambassador.mod.o.cmd:1: warning: NUL character seen; rest of line ignored
drivers/atm/.ambassador.mod.o.cmd:2: *** missing separator. Stop.
make[2]: *** [modules] Error 2
nvidia.ko failed to build!
make[1]: *** [module] Error 1
make: *** [module] Error 2

Any idea ?

I'm unsure of the cause... and I was tired when posting a solution that referenced APM.. which is not ATM. My apologies, I'll see if I have a clue later.

There's no indication that the problem is related to APM, it looks like the kernel source has gotten into a funny state; I'd try removing the files KBUILD is choking on, it seems they were corrupted.

Hello,

thanks for your help. I deleted all files in the kernel source tree, unpacked and compiled them again and the installation works fine now.
