I'm new at this whole linux thing, ive tried several times to get my video card recognized. I've got a 5900FX and when installed the 5336 but when i go to change my XF86Config fille when i reboot my monitor says its out of scan range. All i change in the XF86Config file is the "vesa" to "nvidia" and the load files are correct. Can anyone help?

Look at your /etc/X11/XF86Config(-4), make a backup and change the monitor section to suit the frequencies of your monitor. Probably changing a vertical frequency range is all that is required. If in doubt go for a lower range.
