Just curious if anyone knows where the future of the Nvidia Drivers for linux is headed. I know that most distros will probably drop XFree86 4.4.0 due to constant problems with the developers and the recent license change. I know that freedesktop.org and x.org have people working on a fork of XFree86 4.4.0 before the license changes were made. Will Nvidia continue to follow XFree86 or will they offer support for the forked xserver which Redhat/Fedora, Mandrakesoft, Debian and OpenBSD are all backing. I look foward to any insight on this issue.

My understanding is that NVIDIA is considering moving over to the freedesktop.org XServer... which is a very smart move IMHO, as the FreeDesktop server is vastly better than XFree...
