Unhappy Genlock/HyperThread problems

Hi,

We are running a 6 machine cluster on Mandrake 9.1 using 6 QuadroFX 3000g cards with the latest Linux drivers. The machines have 2.4GHz Intel HT processors and 2GB ram.

We have had serious problems with genlock/synchronisation and frequent (random) crashes in the nvidia-settings panel when HyperThreading is enabled in the bios. However, this all seems to go away when we disable HyperThreading.

Is this a known problem?

Can it be solved with the current drivers?

TIA

Hi,

It seems that we are using version 4620 (so... not the newset driver as I wrote in the original post). According to the sysadms this is supplied by the vendor who sold the cards, especially for the Quadro cards.

But, when we boot into Windows we experience similar problems with the Windows drivers.. .

Well the 4620 driver is beta but works alot better than the official 5336 driver, maybe they didnot test it so well with hyperthreading or something.

Changing the nvagp mode to 1 may help if it's not set already, If the issue is simlar in Windows then maybe there is a hardware issue or conflict.
