Yes,, ordered from EB yesterday and go the standard version as the DVD version was sold out. Still you get the 20 dollar rebate and I get the 10 dollar rebate for owning 2003 so the new game is only like 10 bucks!!

I'm going to get UT2004, even though like a lot of people I was really disappointed with UT2003 and didn't play it much.

The Onslaught gamemode and its vehicles are the main reason to buy UT2004, but I'm also looking forward to seeing what maps and mods the UT community will create to keep things interesting.

I'm getting UT2004 for my birthday though, which is about a week after it's actually released...damn that's gonna be a long week

Count me with the disappointed folks, but 2004 is far too much fun to pass up.

Yeah, I'll definitely pick up the DVD edition. I'd probably buy just about any game released on DVD at this point just to help support that as an option. After seeing the statistics listed in Maximum PC I guess I see why more don't try it though. It was pathetic.

Default UT2004 modding

Unreal Tournament 2004 will be a modders dream game. Firstly it will come with all of the software needed to make a modification, Maya PLE(modeling), Unreal ED 4 (mapping), Unrealscript and UCC compiler (coding). The engine is great (yes even the physics), maybe not Half Life 2 or Doom 3 but still great. Unrealscript makes for somewhat easy coding at least IMO. The only complaint I had with UT2003 was the weak vehicle support and that has been fixed :P

In short yes, I will be buying UT2004. Also, does anyone have ideas for a good vehicle mod?

the game has a much better feel than UT2003. I bought Ut2003 played it for a week then shelved it. UT2004 will have much longer gaming legs it has a nice polished feel to it and the game seems like a good bargain. Lots of content and replay value.

Watch out for my maps i'll be doing in UT2004 guys, never released my experimental ones with 1024x1024 textures and bumpmapping in UT2003 so i'll be using them in 2004 with great effect.

Techincally UT2k3 was a modders dream. There were some things that the needed to fix for UT2k4 to make it easier...have a mods folder is ideal as we still run into issues using custom ints and short cuts. Yes better support for vechicals is a must. But the other stuff was in UT2k3 already. I have been having a blast moddin for it since UT

Since I don't really play online thanks to my lousy Internet connection I think you can probably guess that I won't be picking it up.
