You know, as character models become more detailed, it makes repitition of the same character models that much more apparent. So, are we going to see that same fat zombie all over the place? Perhaps this would work if they were zombie clones but I didn't get that impression from the preview videos.

Haha, I'm amazed. ALL the screens dated 2/8/04 (i.e. every picture on the page except the last 3) are from the Xbox version. I'm really suprised only one person even suspected that, maybe they're doing a better job on the Xbox version than I thought. You can tell they've slightly degraded the graphics on the Xbox version (compair the model in the lower-right screenshot to the one in the second row on the far right), but due to the fuzzy scans the contrast is a bit messed up, so the shadows and lighting look less impressive than they probably would in the actual game (at first I thought the lighting was much worse in the Xbox version, but after I adjusted the shots in Photoshop for a minute they looked very similar to the bottom 3 shots in lighting and colors).

I must say, I was very worried when I heard Vicarious Visions was porting the game, but ID must've designed the game so well that even a 2.5 year old console can run the game and still look amazing. Looks like both PC and Xbox gamers are in for a treat...now if only they'd finish the game!

There was a snippet of info in an article regarding this, I dont know where I read it tho.. it basically said... "regarding the zombies we have, ppl must assume we only have a few given the pictures we've put out soo far, this isn't the case, each zombie is litterally unique thanks to the damage system, showing how they died etc.... "

I think its fair to say, id is only releasing a tip of the iceberg of what will be in the game, content wise.

Yeah, I read that somewhere to... if I got it right, every single zombie should/could look totally different from the others, which is pretty cool. That would make the game feel way more realistic. Actually, I think it'll be more like slight random alterations of the predefined zombie models, but still, it's a great idea. I don't know if it has ever been done in a game before. I mean enemy textures/models variations.

To be honest, I don't think we'll be paying much attention to the individuality of each monsters while they are comming at us and scaring the pants off of us. People used to complain about the spider like things saying it wasn't very creative and they weren't frightining. I think they'll have a whole new perspective on them once they see 100 spiders rushing at them from every nook and cranny.

I believe SOF2 had a model variation, it was all random.
