I just got a simple question that hasn't been answered yet:

Is there a way to bypass the text limit?

TesselationFactor--No idea. Leave it as is for now.
Sounds like something to do with the number of subdivisions that make up curves. Increasing it will make curves look better but increase poly count.

AdapterNumber--Not sure what this does. More than likely isn't important and just a trivial matter. Leave it the way it is.
This is for machines with more than one graphics card.

Does anyone know if the iFeel settings have an impact on performance?
It supports iFeel??? cool. I have an iFeel mouse, must install the drivers and try it out

Got iFeel to work, its ok. I think JK2 had better a iFeel implementation. Doesn't seem to affect performance any.

I have now added the info and streamlined some sections of the guide. Thanks for the input, DaveW.

I ran in ogl for weeks and it was hella fast, except online. Then I saw a tweak that said to change min fps to 0 everywhere it was listed. Running normal textures (world high though) and hiding the gun, I tired d3d and it was no slower, and the lows were even higher, especially online. Have mouselag on and it's fast enough like this that I haven't even tried turning it off yet. Try some of the map packs, opengl on some of those maps is much worse and looks worse than d3d. I'm a convert hehe.
Oh, and I have no anis or AA on. This is now almost running like Q3 ran for me when I was playing that ALL the time (with a voodoo 5 more than a year ago, laff).

Thumbs up

My only issue with UT2003 (not really an issue so much as a comment on the fact that I will have to upgrade my processor AND video soon) is that those great high-poly scenes and textures require me to use AA / aniso or else live with more jaggies. UT and Q3 didn't have as many noticable issues in that area, but with all the detail in UT2003, it's easier to see, even with AA. I guess I've gotta have a 3000+ AMD w/nV30+ to see higher framerates and still not have noticable slowdowns in higher action scenes. (Getting lows around mid-30's at 800x600x32 all details in game set high, quincunx AA + 2x aniso, averaging 50's - 60's, with periodic major jumps between 100-400, lol).

I installed the beta patch, whatever number it is, and it seems to hae slowed my fps down, about to try opengl though. anyone else have the patch and notice the slowdown?

Oh yeah, and would switching the frames from 3 to 2 in rivatuner override or make null the triple buffering entry in the UT ini?

I've always been a big fan of opengl for any game, and I use it whenever possible. Thanks for the tips!
