Default Question about Playstation games (not PS2)

Ive had my Playstation for about 6 years now, and never got a lot of use out of it because I got my own computer a few months later(my good old 400Mhz P2 Gateway with 64Mbs PC-100 and an 8Mb Velocity 128... that thing was a beast... still running strong today in our living room ).

So, I recently got a few hand me downs for my room. A small TV and a VCR... so I decided to set my PS up in my room and hook the whole setup to my surround sound setup (also handed down ). Im having a lot of fun playing Playstation . A few years ago I bought the game King's Field (first person real time RPG... extremely similar to Arx Fatalis.. only the graphics look more like Quake) and never played it much. But now, i find myself playing it any chance I get!

So.. im curious... are there any really really really good Playstation games that I missed out on? Im not much for the average console style games (side scrollers, anime-style RPGs), so thats why im asking for advice, rather than just renting random games.

There are only a few games ive played on my Playstation... Metal Gear Solid and King's Field being the only 2 I really really enjoyed.

Im deffinitly looking at getting King's Field 2 if I can find it cheap somewhere. But I need more than just one game

Well, I know that any of the Tony Hawk games are a lot of fun. Tony Hawk 4 in particular. Also, Castlevania: Symphony of the Night is arguably the best Caslevania game ever.

(before you discount it because it's a side scroller)

Rent it, give it a chance. It is one of the best, if not the best games to ever come out for the PSX.

I've got kings field II and honestly I think it blows. Give Final Fantasy VII a try... Ya don't like anime style RPGs... but FF goes way beyond. Try some Gran Turismo if you like racing, and in my opinion ya just can't beat a good game of Tenchu: Stealth Assassins.

I'll echo Nephilim...CSotN was awesome. I also recommend the following:

Grandia series...kind of campy/kiddy RPGs but fun IMO and nice "watercolor" type graphics...both two disc games I believe

Einhander (sp?) very cool side scroll shooter sorta like R Type

You can't go wrong with Grand Turismo 1/2, you also could play the original GTA and GTA2 if that struck your fancy.

I agree. I played GT2 for far too many hours when it was released.
