Actualy, I was just mucking about in the advanced config, normaly its set to "0" even on Ultra High water, and that pic is what it looks like with it set to "1" looks odd though huh..

woah your pics are better compared to mine check it out :\

the diff between framerate doesnt look so bad on my 5900 but in some places my framerate is half of what it should be for example the steam level just before the building where you can drive across the lake to it at night, on ultra I get 25 or so and on very high I get 60+

Weird but I'll stick with very high, huge dips aren't worth it if it ruins the experience

I'm slowly progressing through the game (don't want it occupying all my time) and I have to say I'm enjoying it more than I thought I would. It reminds me a lot of Half-Life when I first played that. Graphics that pushed the envelope, good weaponds and decent AI. FC's storyline is pretty bleh, but overall this is definitely a must-own. This could be the start of PC gaming becoming fun again.

I hope someone has not posted this, as I have not read all the posts.
The command for FPS in the game console is \r_displayinfo 1

Their FPS counter is pretty accurate, with the 1st # being the average, the ( . ) being lowest/highest FPS, and the right number being the Current FPS.

No, my bad. I was confused there. I thought there was a level that had some lightning effects in the sky when in reality I was confusing that with the "lighting" option in the graphics settings. You know, like how there is "ultra high" or whatnot for water I was thinking there was a quality setting for the "lightning".

Doh!

Glad to know I've almost got this one beat. It's been a toughie...
