Man this game was hard to find,I went to walmart and they had none and then I went to Hastings Video store and they said they should have done had them in,and I could preorder it and I asked how long it would be and they said maybe 2 weeks since they don't have them in there main warehouse. So I said the heck with that and drove to near Dallas TX and went to CompUSA and they did'nt have none in and then I went to Best Buy and looked all around and found one copy of the game.Did they not send out that many to stores or did they think it would'nt sell good.Any way all is good now since I have my copie of it.Now time to install and see how good it looks.

This game is the most incredible experience I have ever had on a computer. The graphics are mindblowing, and the gameplay incredible. This pic I attached is with everything at Medium, except water and textures, which are at high. Unfortunately the quality is lessened due to size restraints on the pic, but still, that is incredible, and at 80+ fps indoors and 40+ out, it is awesome. And that's on an Athlon Xp 1800+ @1725 mhz, 512 DDR, Geforce 4 ti4600 @ 310/680. OMG. Also, if you think back to Quake 3, and look at the graphics on the original, and then look at Call of Duty, which uses the same engine, what's this engine going to look like in 4 years?
And the fact that the patch improves the FX's performance and adds PS3.0 support (that's a first for games), I believe that in 2 months I'm going to need a couple grand for a serious upgrade (athlon 64 3400+ 939, 1 GB Ram, NV40) By the way, has anybody with a Geforce 4 Ti tried the OpenGL renderer that you can enable in the config files? If so, report back on image quality and performance increases. |

enabling open gl makes the game perform a WHOLE LOT better then d3d9, it only works however if you turn moionblur off, ubi needs to add some supoort for this mode as it has so e minor bugs like psychadelic textures and such but I've only seen it happen once in multiplayer to the ground.
Other then that open gl runs great, most of my settings are now maxed with aa and af ![]() |

Edit the file system.cfg and change the line r_Driver = “Direct3D9” to r_Driver = “OpenGL”
Hope that helps ![]() Edit: F12 is the screenshot button however I kept causing errors like glitches when I used it...now it doesn't work so I just use fraps. |

The sad part is, now Far Cry is my new game visuals and gameplay benchmark. LOL How is any game gonna top this? I never had such an amazing time. It is pretty unheardof that a game delivers the goods in so many areas. FC is over the top.
