Default specifying metamode

hey all-
i'm wondering if there is a way to specify which metamode you want when you startx. for some reason, i can't get ctrl-alt-+ working to change between modes and actually it would be much nicer if i could just specify it when i start instead of having to switch once started.
i'm running twinview, and the main reason to do this is to have a mode where only once screen is active for playing games. if you have any better suggestions for how to do this, i'd love to hear them. sorry if this info has been given out before, i've done a decent bit of searching and can't find quite what i'm looking for.
thanks!

I'm sure I saw it on a post somewhere today, but having tried a host of searches, I can't find it again. I think, from poor memory, there was an option you could specify, something like "startx - -- mode" or something, but I honestly can't remember.

I think it can be done though, so there is some hope!

Good luck - Callum.

I've just discovered that CTRL-ALT and the plus above equals doesn't work for me. However, on my notebook keyboard, if I use either FN or NUM-LOCK and then use the numerical plus on the letter keys, it works.

Could that solve your problem?

Callum.

The first metamode in the list is the one which is used by default.
