Angry Re: 32bit drivers on Asus K8V

Just thought I'd mention in case anyone else has the same idea... I tried a beta BIOS (I think) for the K8V SE Deluxe at ftp://ftp.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/sock7...x/1004-001.zip but to no avail.

I know this is a stupid question, but the NVIDIA x86_64 drivers won't work for a 32-bit FC2 install will they?

Holy sh*t. Yes, the drivers are there. No, I havn't tried them yet (I was up till 2 am installing my new K8V at my local PC repair store/ex-employeer and didn't bring it upstairs back to my room yet).

For those who are lazy, the driver can be found here:
http://www.nvidia.com/object/linux_d..._1.0-6106.html

And some basic details about the driver (note the bold):
Linux Display Driver - IA32

Version: 1.0-6106
Operating System: Linux IA32
Release Date: June 30, 2004

Release Highlights

* Added support for GeForce 6800 series of GPUs
* Added support for PCI-Express
* Added support for GLSL (OpenGL Shading Language).
* Added support for GL_EXT_pixel_buffer_object.
* Fixed problem that prevented 32-bit kernel driver from running on certain AMD64 CPUs.
* Added support for ACPI
* Added support for 4kstack kernels.
* Added configuration utility "nvidia-settings". For details, see the user guide
* Added a shell script "nvidia-bug-report.sh" that gathers system configuration information into a log file; the resulting log file (nvidia-bug-report.log) should be included when reporting bugs to NVIDIA.
* Added a new Xv adaptor on GeForce4 and GeForce FX which uses the 3D engine to do Xv PutImage requests.
* View the README (Text Version) for more information on this release.

Soon as I'm done with work I'll give it a shot.

Drivers work!! Excellent job NVIDIA.

Now only if I could figure out why UT2004 is choppy every few seconds, then runs fine where as my XP 1700+ was fine... hmm, any ideas?

For those still following this thread, it appears the nvidia has an update which may address the problem:
