Anyone knows how to beat the boss in the swamp level?
Been spraying that big blob with everything i got but he just gets mad.
Also tried to shoot the weird balls that keep floating up, but nope.

Pretty cool game so far.

It seems Painkiller is going to be the biggest game copy protectionb scandal in the history: the Painkiller game IS NOT working AT ALL with a DOZEN drive, including the widely used (HP, Compaq, Dell) OEM LG drives!

The current list, compiled by me - PAINKILLER DOESN'T WORK WITH THE FOLLOWING DRIVES:

# Pan International CyberDrive 240
# ASUS CD-S400
# M a t s h i t a CR-581-B
# Philips CDD2000
# LG GDR-8161B - this is in the majority drive in xwX000-family HP WS, also known as
# HL-DT-ST DVD-ROM GDR8161B
# Toshiba HL-DT-STDVD-ROM GDR-8081N (2002 sept laptop drive)
# LG HL-DT-ST DVD-RAM GMA-4020B Apr 2003 IDE (internal drive) - probably none of these LGs are working
# HL-ST-DVDRAM GSA-4081 - I bought it weeks ago, this is that 8x DVD+/-R/RW/RAM drive!
# YAMAHA CRW-F1E - the tattoo drive

and still counting!

Dreamcatcher, the publisher of Painkiller title DID NOTHING BEFORE ITS RELEASE, although they KNEW THIS PROBLEM VERY WELL, as they made a small topic on their web forum on April 5th, 48 hours before the game arrived to the stores.

It's safe to say it was a malicious move to hide the truth as long as they can, avoid hurting their sales - even they knew already they're shipping a defective game.

I was going to pick up a few copys of this game, however im gonna see if they release a offical patch to axe this copy protection.

I bought Painkiller today at EB and got it for $10.00. Is that normal? I normally don't shop there and when I saw the $10.45 total I told the guy something had to be wrong. He checked and said it was a promo and that it was the full game. I was skeptical since I thought I had read something about that before and it ended up being a demo. But, it looks like it is the full game. The receipt shows original price $39.99 ea. Disc: 29.99 Promo #1458. The price is then listed as $10.

So, is there some catch? Is it really a 6 CD game and so I'll have to go out and purchase the other 3 CDs mid-way or something? There's has to be a catch...

Is this the copy protection issue? The 2nd demo was supposed to be final code and it worked fine...Grrrr.

Do you have CD 3 in the drive when you try and launch the game? There's a typo in the owner's manual that says you need to have CD 1. There should have been a supplemental piece of paper which notifies you of the correct disc.

I have no problems launching or playing the game. I used my Lite-On burner to install and play.

Yeah, I just left it in there after the install.

Well, I'm still mad but not quite as much as before since it works with my second system. It didn't work with my Samsung CDRW/DVD combo drive but did work in my other system which has a Sony DVD/RW.

Gah visited CompUSA and Fry's neither had any PainKiller buying online gotta wait few days atleast good to hear it works with Sony Drive
