Default nvnet is loaded, what's next?

hi!
i downloaded nforce drivers, compiled them, i have also "alias eth0 nvnet" line in /etc/modules.conf, i have successfully loaded nvnet module (when i call lsmod it's there), but i don't know what should i do now...

i think i should have /dev/eth0 file but it's not there.... because somewhere i've read i should call "ifup eth0" but it just says that it's unknown interface.....

i'm linux newbie so my knowledge is quite small
thanks in advance for any help

Don't know what distro you use, but for the time I was on ML 9.2 (kernel 2.4) I had to configure the networksetting in MCC after I had installed the official nForce-drivers. Now that I'm on ML 10.0 (kernel 2.6) everything works out of the box.

It's MCC it stands for Mandrake Control Center, it is the place to configure Mandrake Linux.

I can't help you configuring Debian, I don't have experience with Debian, I suggest you try to find a Debian-forum to get help
