Nvidia and Linux Problems

Hey does anyone here know how to get Nvidia's sound card to work.. I even got another sound card(SB Live) and sound still doenst work. My thoughts are that its my nforce2 chipset. My computer is a Emachine T3025, and it seems there is no way to get sound. If you think you can help plez post

What distro are you using? what kernel are you using?When did you install the distro? And has it always been like this or just happen. To get the other sound card working you have to disable your onboard card in the bios.

yes i disabled the onboard

the Distro is Mandrake 10.0
and the Kernel is 2.6.4

and I never had sound working even when I used Redhat thats the reason I went to mandrake 10 was for the 2.6 kernel but still no luck
