Default LCD panel + linux + GeForceFX

I am running RH 9.0 on a PC, with the FX 5900 Ultra. I am looking to get a new LCD monitor and was wondering if there are any general resource sites that can tell me:

* if X 4.3 works with the monitor
* if GeForce FX + linux works with it.

Specifically I am looking at the samsung syncmaster family (191N/T), and will also be considering others like the ViewSonic.

any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

The answer to both of those questions is: Yes!
You will need the Hsync and the Vsync of the monitor.
And then you will either need to edit your XFree86.conf file to reflect the new monitor in the monitor section,
Or create another monitor device in the monitor section using the specs of the new monitor.

You probably have to implement the option "ConnectedMonitor" "DFP"

Any monitor with either a VGA or DVI port should work without a hitch, there's no compatibility list.
