Default Overlay Corruption with DVI and Xv

I have 2 Nvidia based cards, a Gainward Pro/660(GeForce FX 5200/128MB)
and a BFG Asulum Geforce FS 5600(256MB)

Both show unusable levels of corruption when using Xv(or XvMC) and my DVI display(Dell 2001FP at 1600x1200).

It seems worse on HD streams, but even normal TV resolution video looks poor too.

When it happens: displaying video with Xv or XvMC using Xine or mplayer at
1600x1200 1400x1050(from memory) and 1280x1024. When the video is running full screen or in a window occupying most of the screen. With any AGP setting(including disabled). With any Flat Panel Scaling properties(default,aspect-scaled,scaled, native) With IgnoreEDID true or false. At all the valid mode lines I've tried at 1600x1200(in the config attached). With nvidia driver 5336 or 5341.

When it doesnt happen, 1024x768, when running in a window and the window is moved so that it doesn't occupy the full screen(even 40 pixels left or right is enough.) When using Xv in mplayer on the Blitter port(146) When connected via VGA(even 1600x1200)

Clean is when I move the window and it clears up. Full is a full screen view, Zoom is a closeup of the problem.

Thanks for any suggestions.
