Default hanging in RH9 2.4.20-31.9 kernel with nvidia driver

It doesn't hang immediately. Takes a few minutes, usually.

This happens on two versions of the Nvidia driver:
NVIDIA-Linux-x86-1.0-4496-pkg2.run
NVIDIA-Linux-x86-1.0-5336-pkg1.run

WHen I change to the nv driver, it does not hang. In previous kernels, I did not have these problems with the nvidia driver.

I suspect something funny with the kernel you changed to. In times of crashes it pays to try the latest production kernel, even though it takes some learning to compile it.
