Default PseudoColor mode

Hello,
I am using a GeForce4 MX440 card under RH9
My new linux applications need a 24 bit color X11 server
Here is my Screen Section, this works well.
#
Section "Screen"
Identifier "Screen0"
Device "GeForce4MX440"
Monitor "Monitor0"
DefaultDepth 24
SubSection "Display"
Depth 24
Modes "1280x1024" "1024x768" "800x600" "640x480"
EndSubSection
EndSection
#

But I have some older applications who need 8 bit colors
in PseudoColor mode.
Is it possible to share 24 bit and 8 bit pseudocolors with
the same X11 server ?

Thanks for help .
Christian

X can't do depth switching or things like that. Normally 8bit apps should work fine perhaps a little slower but they should work.
