I installed the 5328s (they had been modified for the 2.6.5 kernel), before I had the 5336's.
The installation worked fine, editied my XF86Config also... I am not getting the NVIDIA splash screen on boot, I used to with FC1.... Here is a line from my X11 log- (EE) Failed to initialize GLX extension (NVIDIA XFree86 driver not found) I try to run UT2004, and it's screen comes up and just goes away... Argh... |

Why are you using the 5328, the 5336 works fine with 2.6.5.

Are you referring to the 5336's on NVidia's website?

I have reinstalled 5336. I edited my xorg.conf file, removed Load "dri" and changed "nv" to "nvidia"
When it tries to start X on that kernel, I get a black screen (on a SMP kernel), then I boot to the non-SMP kernel, re-edit my xorg.conf back to the way it was... I am glad to hear someone out there can make it work, all I am asking is how?? I originally thought that editing XF86Config would do the trick, but, I am noticing that doing that did nothing at all.. Any words of wisdom to a Newbie?? Thanks |

Yes...
You are running a kernel that will not work with these drivers because you are running test 3. Have you taken the necessary steps to recompile the kernel into a usable configuration yet? You need to tell us if that is the case. |

Where the "necessary steps to recompile the kernel into a usable configuration" refers to the process of rebuilding recent Fedora Core Test 2 kernels with 8K stacks (and w/o 4G/4G split for older driver releases), as described in related threads on this forum.
