Thanks for all the replies guys.

Unfortunately I don't have strace and ltrace installed. I'm just gonna do a total reinstall (not BELFS but LFS).

I have already tried the NoRenderAccel... thanks anyway.

Gentoo is great, i used it for quite a long time. The best *distribution* ever. However, now I have moved on to LFS. I know it takes a lot of time, but it is very satysfying knowing that you built the system your self. Plus when a hot chick asks, "Which distribution is that?"... I can always reply: "Honey, this isn't a distribution.... etc."

Just wanted to thank everyone for their help.
