Yes. I pretty much like it. In comparison to SuSE 9.0 it has some features that make me like it:
+ Boots much faster + Winmodem works from the start in my laptop (took my 2 day on SuSE 9.0 with alsa, kernel updates) + Installation was superb easy and everything works fine (Printer on DSL-router, external CD burner). + Packages are quite up to date: Kde 3.2.1, Kernel 2.6.4, firefox 0.8, thunderbird 0.5 + Lots of community rpms available. - Integration of Firefox and Thunderbird isn't perfect. SuSE prefers Konqueror and KMail - a choice I don't agree. Needs some configuring to make firefox launch thunderbird and vice versa. - No gnome 2.6. Not that I liked gnome but I would have loved to see it once (and only once). - I don't expect SuSE to update to KDE 3.2.2 though there are unsupported rpms. The bottom line is that SuSE 9.1 is still my favourite distribution and it is a clear improvement to SuSE 9.0. |
