HW: NVIDIA Quadro (nVidia Corporation NV17GL [Quadro4 550 XGL] (rev a3))
SW: 4.3.0-7 on Debian, Kernel 2.6.6 After X has been been started, the text consoles only gives me some dots and clouds in white and green. I've got frame buffer support enabled, it appears when using vga=791 and vga=0. Same happens with kernels 2.6.4, 2.6.3 and some 2.4... kernels. Any ideas? |

I removed all framebuffer options in the kernel setup, compiled and installed new kernel and modules and restarted with "vga=0" kernel parameter.
But, it didn't help - still snow after X has been started. |

The frame buffer can be disabled from with in the Kernel and the vga= line in grub/lilo referes to the vga modes, I will look mine out and post it tonight

I have this same problem. After starting X none of my normal terminals will display. I've tried with and without framebuffer options. I'm using Debian Sid. Have a Quadro4 900 XGL. Works fine until I start X. Then only the X display works. Shutting down X doesn't seem to restore the consoles.

I lied, I thought the VGA =mode had fixed my problem but infact i found it commented out I think it was finally the
Option "IgnoreDisplayDevices" "DFP, TV" that solved it for me. but if you are using TV then ..... |
