![]() AHHH!!! Too bright!!! Luckily I brought my non SM3.0 ATI hat.. hopefully it will reflect all the light: For our experiment, we will take an everyday beach rock, and submerge it in water. We shall see how, and if it reflects light. Here is the beach rock, yes, it is on my mailbox: Lets dunk it in water! Its kinda dark outside, so lets take it in the bathroom light: (Bonus game, spot the hidden A64 logo!!) I see a small sparkle there!! Luckiley my ATI shirt had no reflections, as to not distract me from the rock. Lets take the rock back outside: No shine?!?!??! I think we need to conduct this experiment when it is more light outside.. until next time... Unfortunately my experiment was non-conclusive.

Oh well, I became bored...
Nothing like Googling around for high school physics that I'm foggy on to say the least. Anyway, specular reflection can occur with most any surface, given that it is either naturally "smooth enough" or if something (water) fills in the otherwise rough surface. Heck, paper exhibits some specular properties, as anyone who has tried to read with a high intensity lamp can attest. Below is a good link for more information and this quote which goes along with what I just said.Quote:
Back to that FarCry beach. The rocks could be wet...I mean it is a beach, right? Even if the rocks are not wet...why be so hellbent about the likelihood of that being a hemitite covered beach or not? What's the big deal? The last time I checked there are countless liberties with physics, visual properties, physiology, etc, etc, etc that game developers take...they are games afterall.

ok, so since it's Dark here, I opted for using normal kitchen light, heck why not? the sun is WAY brighter than anything I have in my house...
so, as you can SEE (the red arrow) there is in fact specular properties to this wet rock. and if you still don't think so, then...maybe your thinking of something else? btw Thanx for tying Jakup,
