yeah it will. the ps3.0 stuff is inherent in the nv40 chip. you may have mess pixel pipelines and vertex shaders than a 6800gt, but the sm3.0 will work just the same

There is no added eye candy in the revoked 1.2 patch, only performance optimizations. There were some ATI-related bugs in the patch but there were some other bugs that affected everyone, including glitches in multiplayer.

I am starting to seriously doubt there will ever be another patch since Crytek is working for EA now and all their Far Cry resources are probably involved with the console version of the game.

I think all we need to do is wait for a driver to come out that fixes all the issues and makes the card run the way it needs too.

I agree....now that their with EA, I doubt another patch will made. Ashame too...I was really looking forward to the "rocks" scene they made with sm3.0.

but they cant release a patch that cuts off 40% of their user base. It has to work for all cards...nvidia and ati.

Well I had a X800XT for a couple months and there was definitely some texture issues with the 1.2 patch. After testing the game on that card and my current 6800 Ultra I can see that the X800XT is still a bit faster with the 1.2 patch with the PS2.0b path over the 6800 Ultra using the PS3.0 path. I am not sure how the performance will get impacted if the texture issues get resolved for ATI cards.

Until there is another patch, assuming there will ever be another one, I would recommend ATI users stick to the 1.1 patch and Nvidia users use the 1.2 patch if you do not plan on going online for multiplayer with this game.

I agree also. I played farcry the entire way through and loved every moment of it. I played Doom 3 and got bored after the first couple levels.
