No change... game still freezes.

Also, do you have the latest Nforce drivers installed??? (Noticed that from the AGP/PCI bridge being Nvidia)
I am running vanilla Linux kernel 2.4.26, which already includes the AGP patch from NVIDIA_nforce*tgz from the Nvidia website. However, even though the kernel appears to recognize the AGP, /proc/driver/nvidia/agp/status shows it to be disabled:
Code:
Linux agpgart interface v0.99 (c) Jeff Hartmann
agpgart: Maximum main memory to use for agp memory: 439M
agpgart: Detected NVIDIA nForce2 chipset
agpgart: AGP aperture is 64M @ 0xd0000000
Code:
bash-2.05b$ cat /proc/driver/nvidia/agp/status
Status: Disabled
This is with Option "NvAGP" "2" in XF86Config.

My /var/log/XFree86.0.log contains:
Code:
(**) NVIDIA(0): Option "NvAGP" "2"
...
(**) NVIDIA(0): Use of AGPGART requested
...
(WW) NVIDIA(0): Failed to verify AGP usage
I am using a PCI ethernet card, and ALSA sound drivers. I might as well try the NVidia sound drivers, but there is no change if I start the game with "-nosound".

I guess I'll go back to the NVidia AGP, since that seems to at least be recognized.

Any other suggestions?

I don't know what else to suggest. It seems that what ever the problem is, it may be the AGP (Which doesn't sound quite right, since the GF2 card worked), or the GF4 is faulty. (Please don't say that the GF4 works OK with windows, as there are big differences as to how both OS's handle their hardware. It will (Seem to) work ok in one, and not the other).

I know it's like , but there must be some solution for this problem.
