Hi all,
I have debian 3.0r1 install on a box. I have downloaded and install the 5336 drivers for my Geforce 4 with nvidia chipset. # sh NVIDIA-Linux-x86-1.0-5336-pkg1.run gives error: ...make sure u have installed the kernel source files for your kernel.... I have then: # apt-cdrom add # apt-get install kernel-headers-`uname -r` in my dir /usr/src, i've got afterwards: kernel-headers-2.2.20-compact so I: # sh ./NVIDIA-Linux-x86-1.0-5336-pkg2.run --kernel-include-path=/usr/src/kernel-headers-2.2.20-compact/include but message: gcc version check failed |

You need to install the kernel source for your running kernel. As it will require certain files in the source code to recomplie the drivers.
I run RedHat Enterprise 3 WS, RH9 and Fedora Core 1. And with all these installations I also include the kernel source as part of the install, incase I need to recompile drivers or any other software that needs it etc. Wolf |
