I am a newbie using Mandrake 10. I tried to install the NVIDIA drivers but got the error message (EE) Failed to initialize LX extension (NVIDIA XFree 86 driver not found)
so I decided to make my XF86Config-4 file look like the example given by NVIDIA. Maybe this made it worse, cause now I'm getting (EE) NVIDIA(0) Failure to construct a valid mode list: no modes remaining (EE) NVIDIA(0) ***Aborting*** (EE) NVIDIA(0) Screens found, but none have a usable configuration Is it best to restore the old XF86Config-4 file or did I just make an error? I hope someone can help me. Last edited by david the 1000; 05-21-04 at 02:43 PM. Reason: woops, looks like the attachments didn't come through |
