Default Purchase decision on XFX 5700 Ultra...

I'm looking for a 3D enhanced card with Dual DVI output to run with Linux. Is anyone else using the XFX 5700 Ultra card with Linux and using the dual DVI with 2 flat panels?

I could really use some feedback about how it works before I purchase this card. I'd hate to have to return it.

Unhappy Re: Purchase decision on XFX 5700 Ultra...

I have the XFX dual DVI FX 5700 Ultra card on Windows. I see a lot of posts regarding dual display woes with a 5700 and Linux, more than any other NVIDIA card in recent times. Perhaps this is because of the popularity of the 5700 and its dual-DVI goodness.

If you get one of these, look for the XFX 5700 Ultra with GDDR3 instead of the XFX with DDRII. DDRII RAMs run very much hotter than DDR3.
