I'm currently on holiday with only my mobility 9600 on my laptop and all the shadows and lighting are COMPLETELY BORKED. I have tried a few different drivers but I've pretty much established nothing is going to work, apart from an nVidia gpu.

It runs much better than my 9800 Pro. I can actually play with some aa/af now... I only briefly played it since I'm waiting on new drivers and a format to really start gaming again

Although a reformat usually isn't necessary, I would. It helps things stay cleaner

Just finished this game the other day. All things considered, I thought it was excellent. I was a huge fan of Thief 1 when it came out and liked Thief 2 (what? robots?) as well. I think this third one did a good job at balancing gameplay with graphics/atmosphere as well as maintaining the integrity of the series. Of course, lighting/shadows and sound were what I consider to be elite. At times, some of the graphics highly impressed me - as in jaw dropping- and at other times I thought some things were dissapointing (like low res textures). I was very glad to know that I really enjoyed this game, as I feared that it might not live up to my expectations. I do wish, however, that it was longer.......

I started playing it on a GF4 Ti4400 and finished it off on a 9800 pro. Both cards played it well enough for my tastes (the Gf4 did surpsingly well I thought), but the 9800 pro did offer a decent performance increase over the GF4 card (as I expected it would). I've read a lot of complaining about that specific line of ATI cards not running this game as well as people thought it should, so I thought I'd add these comments. I found the 9800 pro playable at 1024x768, all details max, bloom off, aniso at 4x and multi-sample at 2x. That was using Cats 4.4 on a P4 2.8 system with 1gb of ram.

I hope others have as much fun with this game as I did, and I'm glad to see a decent sized post (sticky, even!) here about it.

Im at the museum level near the end of the game. I just heard the guards talk about what would happen if someone were to put water in their new security system which appears to be a helpful hint, only Ive got one water arrow left!

I tried leaving the level to go buy some more only it wont let me! ouch

a cheat to acquire water arrows would be great right about now, especially as ive been relying on quick saves for a while, maybe even till back in that creepy asylum level which i dont really want to go back to.

well i just picked up this game..i loved Thief 1 and 2...and now really love Thief 3!!!

On my system playing @ 1600x1200, no AA and no AF..dont really need it IMO..i get average of 60 FPS..and get as low as 45 and as high as 75...it seems to run great...and shadows are truly amazing

The only thing that annoys me and real minor..is the moonlight coming in with those stupid I dont know what they are sparkles...I never seen sparkles from moonlight unless that is suppose to be dust...no clue what they suppose to be..I posted 2 screenshots...had to resize them to 1024x768 just to be able to upload due to size limitations but it looks wonderful @ 1600x1200
