After playing the demo, I'm not impressed with this game one bit. It runs crappy just like DX2. Same engine, same makers, same thing.

I heard Eidos is going to stop making PC games and go exclusively to PS2. Not hard to imagine why.

I hear Ion Storm is laying a bunch of people off...

but seriously, I think Thief is doing pretty well for a pc game, it's also kinda late in the game to start developing for ps2 right now, most new developers are more than likely going to shoot for ps3.

but why go exclusivly to anything? ...seems like you'd be limiting your market.

It runs great on my system. Just make sure your not using the catalyst 4.5's.. the 4.4's work great

Well they just had to screw things up didn't they? In Thief 2 demo ("The unwelcome guest" for those who remember), they put a shortened version of a huge and arguably the best Thief 2 level in it. Now they put 2 of the most uninteresting missions of the game and the first one is the training level. Those who have seen the kindergarden that the training level is, will know what i mean. It's no wonder people will be pissed. Personally i found it insulting and

There are a lot of IW residues in the game although the atmosphere is definately Thief. It just makes me sad, how much more perfect it could be if they didn't have outside pressure from Eidos marketing to make it easier and more action oriented etc.

I don't agree with that one bit.

People use terms like "great" and "super smooth" and are interchanging them with words like "Ok" and "playable".

Personally I think this game runs like a dog. I don't throw words like "great" up there unless it is.

I consider this very playable:

1280x1024 all options maxed, bloom enabled no AA/AF. Ocassionaly it will dip as low as 30fps.. but thats great to me as well. To me, anything above 30fps is good. Maybe I just have lower standards.. dunno

Looks pretty nice. Not up to Doom 3 standards of course, but then again it's nice that this game is actually OUT. And OMG, your have a SHADOW! And not just a generic blob shadow, an actual REALISTIC shadow that's cast based on light sources! I'm usually impressed when you have just a body in first-person games, but a SHADOW...

Looking forward to trying out the demo and seeing how it is. Unfortunatly it'll take me a while to download on my 56k...but eh, I'm patient.

Talk about your piece o' crap demo. You can't reassign any of the keys, and if you try to re-assign certain ones, you crash back to the desktop. Methinks I'll be avoiding this one like the plague.

I don't know what your talking about, but this demo rocks and I haven't had any problems mapping keys whatsoever. By the way their are alot of hidden options that need to be enabled in the default.ini file. Just go to the official eidos forum and they are some posts about them.
