Default Configuring WindowsXP to work with a Windows2k ICS connection?

As the title stated, I'm wondering how to configure Windows XP to work with Internet Connection Sharing from a Windows 2000 machine. I've set up ICS on my Win2k machine, and I know it's working because I've set it up with my Xbox no problem, but whenever I try to have my Windows XP computer detect settings I always get the generic IE error page. I know the network is set up correctly because I've transfered files over it between the computers, but whenever I try to share my internet to it nothing happens. Any help is appreciated.

Set the ip adress of the xp machine to mach that of your internal nic on the 2000 box. For example the 2000 box should have an ip address of 192.168.0.1 net mask 255.255.255.0
so set your xp system up with an unused ip address on that netwrok ie 192.168.0.2 net mask 255.255.255.0 dns server and gateway must point to the 2000 box in this they would be dns server 192.168.0.1 default gateway 192.168.0.1

then all should be good.
