Lightbulb Re: Basic FX59xxx bios changes

Hi Jimmor,

I'm again here to ask you something . I have an MSI FX 5600 256MB & It is perfectly stable at 400/575. I look into the bios table but it is quite different than FX 59xx Series. Can you tell me how can I mod this bios with 400/575 clock? Also if u want to take a look at the bios or if u can mod it for me, please give me your mail address or mail me at t494c4f4b@hotmail.com, i'll send you the bios.

Thanks Jimmor. Waiting for your reply.

Hi! I'm back again!

My problem still exists, though I installed a Vantech PCI Fan Card to the neighboring slot and added and old AT PSU to the system (it supplies my hdd & fans).
I try to explain it more precisely:
- I set core clock to 425MHz (PowerStrip)
- run Aquamark3
- after about 2 seconds (sometimes longer/shorter) it locks up for a while
- then goes on but reasonably slower
I do not really understand why this happens, because there is too little time for the chip to get hot (2 secs - and it's rather cool - pci fan card cools very well).
So PSU and cooling is ok. May the built-in thermal sensor be set to very low temp treshold? (there is no hw-monitoring on my chip, so I cannot see actual temps)

Hello fazi1985 :

Lets see if I can help

First: You can not have two different power supplies for one computer. [ Unless you have the negatives of each power supply tied together ]

Give me some background on the computer set up. Do not leave anything out ex. Windows version, last video card, motherboard, age of computer - anything and everythimg. The more info, the better.

Ok, I try to write everything.

- conf.: Asus P4P8X - P4 2.66/533noHT 2*512/333 DDR dual ch Inno3D 5900XT (Sapph 9600Pro before) Seagate Barracuda SATA 150 120GB
WinXP Pro Sp1 + some downloaded updates

Vga is 1 month old, the rest are 6.
I think that's all!

2 PSU-combo worked fine. 200W AT PSU supllied my hdd and fans, 300W ATX PSU supplied the rest of the system (mobo, vga, cpu, ...).

I'm sorry but No!!! You can not have two different power supplies!!! The power throughout the computer MUST; MUST; MUST; have a common negative. It is wrong any other way. If you tie the negatives together, this would be correct but not recommended.

I would start by buying a new power supply. A P4 and a 5900 XT take a lot of power. The 300 watt power supply would not be enough power even with a system stripped down to only the Video card, CPU and one Hard Drive.

Fahim, A cursory look at the bios you sent has identified various speed profile tables ranging from 250 to 500MHz !

If you can tell me the original GPU and memory 2D, 3D and/or throttling speeds for your card, and any other info you can think of, it will allow proper identification of the found tables ??
